Gabrielle Woods is an undergraduate senior Leisure Youth and Human Services with a focus on therapeutic recreation from Boone, IA. Her research interests include the study of music on the neurophysiology system and the social effects of music on individuals with Alzheimer. Gabrielle joined the McNair Scholars Program because she is passionate about learning and want to learn how to continue that passion and desire for success through graduate school. She also is inspired to help others obtain education beyond a bachelors degree. In her free time, Gabrielle is involved in The Salt Company, Therapeutic Recreation Club, volunteer for the Special Olympics, volunteer for Western Home Communities, and a student participant in UNI's University Honors Program. Gabrielle has received the following awards: Coco Cola Gold Scholar,All Iowa Academic Scholar, and Pearson Higher Education Scholar Award.
